Local Mission: We serve the elderly and needy in the La Veta community with an odd jobs ministry called

National Mission: We participate in mission trips throughout the United States as the need arises.

In the past two years we have traveled to Alamosa, Colorado, Gulfport, Mississippi and Greensburg, Kansas to assist with projects.

OUR LAST MISSION TRIP

was to Windsor, Colorado to put in a new lawn and replace the roof of a farm building both damaged by last May's tornado. Dates of the trip were Monday, October 6-Friday, October 10. Mission Team members were J and Denny Patterson, Lyn Burns, Bill Stark, Skip Ladd, Steve Werner, Betty Brown,

and John and Jan Burnett.

United Methodist Women: The La Veta Chapter of this international service organization hosts the Christmas in July Bazaar the fourth Saturday in July and the Christmas Bazaar the Saturday before Thanksgiving in order to fund the many missions they support: Dorcas Circle, Upon the Rock Christian Camp, Compassion International (and our adopted daughter Maria), Salvation Army, Nicaraguan Well Project, Cuchara Valley Christian Community Services, La Puente Project, First Baptist Church Food Bank, Operation Christmas Child, Pawsitive Connection (Colorado Boys Ranch), Friends of Namakkal, and other worthwhile projects.
