Poonusamy's new hut

Washing dishes from a hut that we cleaned.

There were no sinks so we washed them outside in buckets of water.

Everyone has lots of colorful water jugs that they fill at local wells. Most of the outlying villages each had a main well.

The children loved all the finger puppets we brought. Knitters from La Veta, Center, Lakewood, Monument and Topeka made them for us to take.

Shoes are optional in India, even in your business office!

It was so much fun passing out the finger puppets in the villages. It was a great way to break the ice.

Painting Henna tattoos is a real art in India. They are used especially for wedding parties. The bride will have intricate designs drawn all over her arms, legs and feet.

We traveled back and forth from the Nala Hotel in these auto rickshaws. We had some really wild rides.

On Grandparents Day at the C.A.R.E. Health Center, we spent time with the children and their grandparents.

The outskirts of Namakkal had many villages with thatch huts. The families we visited always invited us in and were very gracious. They always served tea and cookies and wanted us to be comfortable.
